Healthy Protein Cookies

These healthy cookies are sure to become a family favourite in no time, just don’t make the same mistake I did and announce that you’re making HEALTHY cookies because the moment I said that I knew my kids would not try them 😂 However, the good news is that they actually love these cookies and will devour them so long as they think they came from the cookie shop and mommy and daddy had nothing to do with them.

But on a serious note, this Healthy Protein Cookie recipe is a great way to mix in some protein into your kids life without them really knowing it! These cookies are made with simple ingredients, unlike store-bought cookies which are loaded with refined sugars and unhealthy fats. This homemade version is consciously crafted to provide a balanced blend of wholesome ingredients. By using ripe bananas as a natural sweetener and incorporating protein-rich peanut butter and protein powder, we've created a snack that satisfies cravings while supporting sustained energy levels and will help give your kids a little more protein which is essential for healthy and strong children.

Leangredients:

- 2 ripe bananas

- 2 tablespoons peanut butter

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/2 cup flour

- 3/4 tablespoon baking powder

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1 scoop protein powder

- 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Leanstructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas using a fork until smooth.

3. Add the peanut butter and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas, stirring until well combined.

4. Next, add the flour, baking powder, salt, protein powder, and semi-sweet chocolate chips to the banana mixture.

5. Mix all the ingredients together until a dough forms and the ingredients are evenly distributed.

6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.

7. Using your hands, scoop out portions of the cookie dough and shape them into 6-8 cookie shapes, depending on your desired size.

8. Place the cookie shapes onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each cookie.

9. Gently press down on each cookie shape with your hand to flatten them slightly.

10. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 8-12 minutes or until they are golden brown around the edges.

11. Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes.

12. Transfer the cooled cookies to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
